The CYC caters to a diverse audience, including youth and young adults, group leaders, parishes, agencies, organisations, movements, chaplaincy, secondary schools, cultural groups, clergy, and other religious members. The target audience also extends to the parish renewal team and those interested in vocations. Recognising a need for greater collaboration, the council aims to break down silos, encourage networking, and provide support for those in youth ministry.
The inclusive approach aims to bridge the gap between leadership spaces, fostering a sense of community among leaders who often operate in isolation. The council invites both those in leadership roles and grassroots members to engage in discussions and collectively address significant issues. The CYC serves as a unifying space, emphasising the importance of listening and collaboration. It also functions as a platform for inclusive decision-making to address the challenges faced by our youth.
The CYC will gather monthly led by a diverse executive committee, with members having a clearly defined role in the council. Called to address key issues and working with a transparent agenda, meetings are dedicated to discussing initiatives with an outcome-focused approach. The overarching goal is to eliminate obstacles hindering youth engagement, establish clear structures and communication pathways.
For those in ministry and leadership roles, the council serves as a platform to share insights with young people and gain feedback on best practices. The Council would play a crucial role in reviewing the effectiveness of various programs and initiatives, ensuring they align with the aspirations and realities of our youth. This assures the council addresses the root causes and fosters a unified vision between young leaders and senior figures.
